The Nissan Diesel Afrial (Aerial) Ladder Morita Fire Truck by Tomica with the real life Fire Truck

It's always cool to see the real model a diecast toy is based on. This is even more true for fire engines because they hold a special appeal to many people.

Tomica / Tomy firetrucks are very popular with collectors because of their attention to detail. It is no surprise then that these models end up being very collectible and high priced.

New Tomicas for release May 2017 to August 2017

The 829 Japan website  just shared incoming Tomicas that are due for release between May to August 2017.

INCOMING REGULAR TOMICAS

Most (but not all) new releases come into 2 colors. one is a limited edition color, This would be the one with a longer description under the name.

For instance, in the Subaru BRZ below, the limited edition is the yellow one.

One caveat though, sometimes, the regular model exceeds the value of the limited edition. On my part, I simply buy both to be sure since I normally buy at least 3 (ideally 5) of each model so that my own model is free when I sell them in the future :-)

Toyota Sprinter Trueno by Tomica in 1/64 scale from the Initial D Set Volume 4

This Toyota Sprinter Trueno is from the Initial D Set  of Tomica. I have also included the rest of the cars in set.

These sets have long been discontinued and are now quite expensive not to mention, VERY HARD to find.
